Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born on March 4 1954. O'Hara has been awarded a variety of awards which include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. She was named as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was honoured with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. O'Hara began her career as an actress in 1974, when she was in The Second City, an comedy troupe that improvised located in Toronto. Alongside John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the principal casting for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara and Candy began working on Second City Television's sketch comedy series (1976-1984). O'Hara won an Primetime Emmy Award in 1981 for her writing in the Outstanding category for Variety Series. O'Hara was a member of the newly formed Second City artistic Advisory Board, which was led by Stephen Colbert. Other members of the board included Dwayne Colbert. Tina Fey. Keegan–Michael Key.
